Individual Coaching Support
Because having a coach & coercive control & trauma-trained clincian is the greatest path to healing.
Victims & Survivors & Protective Parents deserve support from trained clinicians who are coercive control & trauma-trained.
Dr. Cocchiola & her associates ARE coercive control-trained AND trauma-trained AND are survivors AND protective mothers.
We understand your experiences & the nuances of this very insidious abuse because we have been there. We would be honored to coach/support you in this process of escaping and/or parenting children who are harmed by the coercive controller.
Are you a protective parent seeking support?
Perhaps you have escaped the coercively controlling [abusive] environment.
OR perhaps you are contemplating your escape & need coaching and support.
In all of this you are also navigating parenting a child who has been or is being weaponized in some way against you, perhaps fearful of the coercively controlling parent, and perhaps reactive towards you in their behavior - due to being harmed by the coercive controller.
Honestly, it can be a combination of all of these reactions.
Our children are in so much pain and they do not even know it.
This individual coaching/support will guide you towards your own path to freedom
AND
support you as you guide your children towards their path to freedom.
Freedom from the Coercive Controller.
We would be honored to support you in this process. We have flexibility to meet at varying times.
What People Are Saying...
Dr. C assured me that this wasn't
my fault and that my reactions
were normal. She guided me to understanding how I could be
supportive of my children while
they were going between my home
and their dad's home [the coercive controller] - often returning to my
home very angry and acting out.
I needed to understand my children's
experiences and be better prepared to respond appropriately in order to make my home feel "safe"

Dr. C’s coaching transformed my relationship with my daughter within a few weeks. When I stopped trying to co-parent with someone who was counter-parenting, I became calmer and better able to co-regulate with my stressed-out teen. After engaging with Dr. C’s podcasts, support group for moms, and priceless individual coaching sessions, I have become a stronger and more confident parent. My daughter’s trust in me is restored as I am modeling personal power, setting boundaries, and
providing safe space.

Dr. Cocchiola truly cares and changed my life as a survivor and a protective parent. She is goal focused and immediately gives strategies that work! My use of these strategies created shifts in me and in my home. I have been more able to regulate and attune
to my children, and they are now
more able to regulate. I needed to
show up differently and when I did,
they began showing up differently.

A few words from Dr. Cocchiola
Individual Coaching/Support with Dr. C & her Associates provides protective parents with validation and support along with strategies to support the process of dealing with all too often unending coercive control by the abuser and the experiences of our children, victims themselves.
I am a licensed clinical social worker and a trauma-trained clinician & coercive control expert. I have supported both adult and child victims of abuse my entire career. For my Doctorate in Clinical Social Welfare, I researched topics related to child and adult victims of coercive control and the impact this abuse has on victims and survivors. I have been an advocate, child protective services (CPS) social worker, and a social worker for various populations, including young people. I have been a full-time college professor teaching social work and specifically educating on the topic of domestic violence and sexual assault for over 20 years.
I am honored to introduce my Associate's to you!
Denise Venuto, LPC & Julie Nee, Clinician in Training
Denise and Julie are coercive control trauma-trained trained clinicians and clinicians in training and have completed both the The Coercive Control Trauma-Informed Clinician Certification Training offered by Coercive Control Consulting and The Protective Parenting Program. They understand the nuances of coercive control because they are survivors and protective parents. Denise and Julie want to support you through these challenging circumstances of escaping the coercive controller, parenting our harmed children, and working towards healing from this horrifying abuse.
Denise holds a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling Psychology and her license in professional counseling. She specializes in trauma, relationships, and anxiety, including Trauma-Informed Movement Therapy & Attachment-Based Parenting. She launched and facilitated The National Network to End Domestic Violence's Economic Justice & Empowerment Program at a local domestic violence advocacy center. Denise has hosted a grief support group for families of loved ones who have lost their lives at the hands of an abuser. She is also a Doula and engaged in regular self-care practices of meditation and retreats.
Julie is currently working on her second Master’s Degree in Social Work at Simmons University, and leveraging her 20 years of experience in executive coaching and leadership development. She specializes in helping victims-survivors overcome the trauma of abuse through techniques like healing from within and harnessing this personal power in the family court system. She is uniquely adept at understanding the family court system and the unimaginable pain that can be caused by a coercive controller’s use of the judicial system to further inflict harm. She supports clients in harnessing the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) in navigating effective communication with abusers, courts, lawyers, and providers. This focus on AI-powered communication helps showcase the healthy parent as the collaborative participant when the court mistakenly sees "high conflict" instead of abuse.
I have no doubt that you will feel supported by either Denise or Julie or myself. Please feel free to set up a 15 minute consult if you'd like to meet with one of us before purchasing the service.
Education is my #1 priority. Education will prevent future generations from suffering intergenerational trauma. I have created programming for over 30 years on the topics of child abuse, trauma, & coercive control. Most importantly, I am a Survivor and a Protective Mom.
